In the wake of the first Mayfest (2009) the Opera House is once again organizing its spring opera festival in 2010, which brings a sparkle to Budapest opera life with the presence of international star guests and links Hungary into the global opera scene.

The programme: Mozart: The Clemency of Titus, Richard Strauss: Elektra, Puccini: Tosca, Rossini: Barber of Seville and two great masterworks by Verdi, Nabucco and Don Carlos. Among the soloists are such world greats as Eva Mei, Herbert Lippert, Eva Johanssohn, Massimo Pisapia, Maité Beaumont, Fabio Capitanucci, Alberto Gazale, Paoletta Marrocu, Norma Fantini, Giuseppe Gipali. Conductors: Ádám Fischer, Gergely Kesselyák, Ádám Medveczky, János Kovács and István Dénes.
