This interactive exhibition takes the visitor on journey into the secretive world of the most populous group of animals on this planet, the insects. It literally places these generally small creatures under the microscope, and in addition to showing numerous prepared insects the display is ideal for the family with its larger-than-life insect models, informative notes written by experts in the subject and interactive games.
The United Nations has declared 2010 International Year of Biological Diversity. In its simplest form, the degree of biodiversity is the number of species. Scientists dealing with the natural world have so far identified around two million species, more than one million of these being insects, and it is reckoned that we still have not catalogued the greater proportion of insect species that are living today.
